Unlock Your Potential with New Rehab Pilates Class!
New Rehab Pilates Class Starts August 2
Does your desk job keep your shoulders tense from hiking them towards your ears? Are your hip flexors gripping and clicking when you walk? Does your low back hurt from lifting groceries or grandkids?
Sometimes repetitive tasks, misalignments, and poor movement habits can keep us tight and cranky, even when we have a regular Pilates practice. Lifelong habits and chronic stressors can interfere with the systemic changes we need for healthy movement.
Pilates Master Teacher Holly Holland has created a new class, Rehab Pilates, to target common compensation and pain patterns and give you strategies to adjust during your everyday activities. You can still expect a good Pilates workout on the mat and equipment during this class, but we will move at a a more deliberate pace in order to explore integrative rehabilitation strategies drawn from Holly's vast knowledge of biomechanics. Join us on Sundays at 2 p.m. starting Aug. 2.
Note: This class is NOT for those dealing with acute injuries or illnesses. If you have been taking private or duet sessions only, you must be approved to take group classes before participating.
Try Mindfulness and Chronic Pain Workshop on Aug. 6
Did you know your mind and body are in constant conversation—especially when it comes to pain? Join Physical Therapist Dr. KC Coninx for a workshop exploring the powerful mind-body connection and how understanding it can help reduce pain and suffering related to both chronic and acute conditions. You'll walk away with practical tools you can use right away, plus the added benefit of lowering the stress and anxiety that so often come along with these diagnoses.
Click here to register for the session on Thursday Aug. 6 from 1-1:50. The cost is $38 for a drop-in or one Pilates group class.
