Onero Classes, New Teachers & Community Events

Our Onero strength training program for osteoporosis has become so popular that we are adding 2 weekly classes. Led by our outstanding Physical Therapist Dr. KC Coninx, these small group classes include progressive strength training exercises, along with balance and coordination challenges developed by the proprietary and evidence-based Onero program from Australia.

Our new class schedule will now include 10 weekly options, from 12-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. KC will offer private Onero sessions and assessments on Wednesday mornings. Call 502-409-4200 to schedule your assessment today!

Speaking of strength, check out this free series of videos to help you increase your grip strength, one of the key factors in aging well.

One of our long-time Pilates students is undergoing surgery and treatment for cancer and could use support from our village. A friend set up a Go Fund Me campaign for Jeanine Pernosky to help her with expenses, including time off from work.

“Her goal is not simply to treat the cancer, but to do everything she can to protect her health, her quality of life, and her ability to continue living the life she loves,” her friend writes on the GoFundMe updates. “The costs associated with cancer can extend well beyond the treatment itself. Specialist consultations, additional testing, treatment, medications, supportive care, travel, and time away from work can add up quickly, particularly when seeking specialized care and multiple expert opinions.”

Jeanine shares that she has a short-term disability policy through work, but it covers a maximum of $1,000 a month. “So, that's my challenge currently, especially with being out longer than I originally planned. I'm so grateful for every prayer, kind message, and word of encouragement. Knowing that people are thinking of me truly means a lot.”

New Pilates Apprentice Teachers Join Studio!

We're excited to welcome three Pilates Apprentice Teachers to the studio through our new teacher training partnership with Evolve Your Training (EYT) Pilates. The three women are pursuing Pilates Mat certification. They are Latasha Weedman, Maddie Cornette, and Aliyah Smith. Please welcome them to the studio.

Additionally, we want to congratulate three teachers who completed Pilates certification through our previous affiliation with Pilates Sports Center. Kaylyn Tyree earned Pilates Comprehensive Certification (all equipment). Abbie Lawrence and Sarah Sullivan earned Pilates Mat certification. Congratulations, teachers!

Stretch and strengthen your body while helping to fill local food pantries next month. Through our partnership with EYT Pilates Teacher Training Program, we will be offering a donation-based Pilates Mat class on Monday Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.  Led by Pilates Apprentice Teacher Latasha Weedman, this 45-minute class will feature many of the exercises in the Pilates Mat repertoire. Mats and props will be provided.

To make distribution easier and enable Dare to Care to purchase needed goods, we request that you contribute a grocery gift card rather than canned goods. Thanks for helping to eliminate hunger in the community.

We have two OPTP 6-inch x 36-inch Axis foam rollers for sale. They're $15 each. These useful props are good for stretching, strengthening, and practicing Pilates.

You can use the foam roller with this free video from Studio Owner Holly Holland. To purchase a foam roller, contact Barry.
