Healthy Movement & Fitness

Welcome to a New Year at Pilates Village!

We’ve had a wonderful surge of new clients this year, and we’re very glad to have you each of you at Pilates Village. You have undoubtedly noticed the collegial spirit in the studio, both among and between teachers and students. There is a place for everyone at Pilates Village. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to make your experience better.

New Buff Bones® Classes Starting in February

Because of the high demand for our Buff Bones® workouts, we will extend our small group class offerings this year. Starting Tuesday Feb. 7 at 12 p.m., Holly Holland will teach a chair-based Buff Bones® class that will be ideal for those who are new to Pilates and who have limited mobility or balance challenges that prevent them from getting up and down from the floor easily. Space will be limited to 6 students per class. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this class, please share the news. No experience necessary.

Meanwhile, we will continue to offer our regular Buff Bones® for continuing students on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. with Claire Greenlee and on Saturdays at 11 a.m. with Holly Holland. Although all the classes are safe for those with osteoporosis, they are challenging and beneficial for everyone.

New CoreAlign is here!

We are excited to begin offering private instruction on our new CoreAlign by Balanced Body. Developed by Israeli physical therapist Jonathan Hoffman, the CoreAlign stimulates core stability muscles while clients perform challenging exercises and deep stretches with whole body alignment. The CoreAlign allows for musculoskeletal rehabilitation as well as strength training to enhance athletic performance. Ask Holly for a demonstration on the equipment, which is located at the rear of the studio.

We will conduct a CoreAlign professional development workshop for teachers Feb. 3-5 at the studio. Please excuse any disruption of classes during this time.

New Apprentice Teachers in the Studio

We’re pleased to introduce Julie Lange and Corri Burkhardt, our new teachers in training. They have begun their apprenticeship under the guidance of master teacher Stacy Celi. While they are completing the extensive requirements of the training program this year, they will offer private sessions for $10 each! This would be a great opportunity for someone new to Pilates to learn the repertoire at a lower price than charged by our experienced teachers.

Our next teacher training session begins in August. Please contact Stacy if you or someone you know is interested in participating.
