Pilates Instructors are in high demand throughout the Louisville area. Every studio and many fitness studios in the region are seeking qualified Pilates instructors, and at least four Pilates studios are slated to open by the end of the year. According to PayScale.com, the median hourly salary for Pilates instructors was $29 as of January 2016. Most Pilates instructors earned $31,162 to $101,185 annually, including bonuses and profit sharing.

Pilates Village Louisville’s largest studio, provides a short path to this valuable and satisfying career. Our twice-yearly (August-December and February-April) weekend program includes 128 hours of classroom-based instruction led by studio owner Holly Holland. Participants are required to complete a total of 450 hours, which includes observation and apprentice hours. The program, conducted through a partnership with California’s Pilates Sports Center, leads to comprehensive Pilates certification that is required and recognized by most professional studios.

PSC provides a contemporary, cutting-edge approach to the method developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, one that preserves the essence of the original technique but incorporates today’s knowledge and principals. Participants will learn the Classical and Progressive approach to Pilates using a beautiful, organized photographic manual.

The cost for the full program is $4,900, and limited to 12 participants. The next session is scheduled to begin Aug. 12.

Prospective instructors are encouraged to send a cover letter expressing their interest to holly@pilatesvillage.com. Those with a background in anatomy or exercise physiology are especially encouraged to apply. For additional information, please call 502-409-4200.

The Pilates Sports Center Difference

fleur de lis

  • PSC offers 124 hours of instructional time vs. other programs, which may require lots of “outside hours” but not actual instruction time.
  • PSC believes in the anatomically based concepts of “neutral spine” to support the spine’s natural curves, a departure from the “pelvic tilt” to flatten the back.
  • All PSC Masters have achieved a high level of excellence in their field, hold multiple diplomas, have passed rigorous testing, and are PMA Certified Pilates Teachers™.
  • Expensive books, DVDs or classes are NOT required at an extra cost.
  • PSC  both “East Coast”/Classical and a “West Coast”/Progressive execution throughout the program to create a well-rounded instructor.
  • PSC offers 2 options: – a Comprehensive “All-In-One” 15-week course or a “Modular” program to learn the Mat and Equipment individual.
  • PSC requires an entrance and exit interview / exam to accept and graduate only those who are truly ready. PSC is proud to be an educational leader who cares about the integrity and success of our graduates.
  • Small group size for the best learning experience – plenty of equipment and Instructor time. 12 Participants MAX!
  • PSC teaches the equipment repertoire on the 5 various “models” of the Reformer, 3 types of Wunda Chair, and 2 Types of Cadillac equipment to understand how to adapt to different studio environments.
  • Students learn how to maintain, modify, and perform safety servicing of the Pilates equipment.
  • Many variations and modifications are taught to assist a client with injuries or special needs. This creates the most capable and skilled trainer.
